Comparing his passion for animal rights to the current political situation, Will added, “If you feel hopeless in a situation – peaceful, direct protest. I recommend … We live in a democracy, so you can. ‘

At the protest, Will told BBC News, “People don’t know that animal testing is still going on in this country and that it is not needed. I couldn’t sit at home and do nothing [to] draw attention to the plight of these animals. ‘

“Singing Nessun Dorma is one of the highlights of my career because when would I get the chance to sing classical music on TV?”

Whether he tried to hide his voice, Will revealed: “Yes, and it was really interesting because when I was exposed, I felt liberated because I could sing as I again!

“It was as if I had found singing again. But, you know, it’s so fun doing a show. It’s the perfect month to get out of there as January is always a little miserable. It’s a great family show, everyone is so nice. ‘

He continued, “I didn’t even see the other participants in their costumes, except for a group number. They’re really kept separate all the time so it’s quite an interesting experience. It’s very relaxing! I want this costume, it’s so brilliant. ‘

Lorraine agreed: ‘I want one too and we can both go out like this!’

To which Will replied, “Listen, when we talk about goals for 2022 – that’s my goal! Nobody would know who we were! ‘

How he coped with all the secrecy surrounding the show, he explained, “I found that difficult because, to be honest, I’m a bit of a babbler! Especially when I see it with my nephews and nieces.

“My nephew actually suspected it was me. He’s ten, Maxwell, and he sent me a message: “Do you sing opera?” And I said, “I don’t know what you mean Maxwell? Anyway, how’s your homework?”

Lorraine then encouraged Will to do more classical music, and he said, “Well, I could. It’s one of the things I’ve always wanted to do, it’s on my list.

“I’ve done so many things in the 20 years because it’s the twentieth anniversary, but I haven’t made a classic record so I would love to do that.”

Will also talked about his 20th anniversary getting famous with Pop Idol and said he’ll be touring later this year.

He said, “I’m going to do a tour at the end of the year, a new album in May, Greatest Hits, and then a full studio album in the fall, and then I have a book. I just finished it … How to be yourself, but happier.

“Because, as you know, I love mental and physical health and I’ve worked a lot on myself and I’ve become so much happier, and that’s why I wanted to collect all of this information, all of these people I met … and simplified it all in one place Well-being book summarized. And I’ve been working on it for about eight years. ‘

Will also spoke about the importance of speaking out on mental health following Brother Rupert’s tragic death in July 2020.

He said, “My twin brother, who sadly passed away, was open about it long before I did.

“He’s spoken about it on broadcasts and on the radio, so it has to be a family thing.

“Also, many of these books – and this is not a review, just an observation – are often written by very intellectual, professional people for other professional people, and they haven’t lived it. And I think there is nothing like living experience. ”
