MONDOVI (WQOW) – It is another edition of “You ask, we answer”. On Wednesday, Garry asked, “Why are veterinary clinics so supported?”

Buffalo Valley’s Animal Wellness Center in Mondovi is usually able to schedule pets with owners for a few days, but recently they’ve had to book appointments for up to two weeks.

Officials at the clinic said their operation plan was also fully booked by the end of August.

Senior vet Bailee Miller believes the rise in pet adoptions has added to her increased patient burden.

According to the American Pet Products Association, around 12.6 million US households bought new pets last year after the pandemic was declared in March 2020.

Even if they’re so busy, Miller advises you not to avoid the vet office or postpone grooming your furry friend.

“The sooner you contact us, the better. Then we can fit you in earlier or include you in our schedule more quickly. We have emergency blocks on our schedule every day so that if something is urgent we can try to fit you in, “Miller said.

Miller said they hired three additional workers to keep up with the extra work.
