EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – El Paso Animal Services said it is a good time to check your cat’s physical and mental health since February is National Cat Health Month.
Make an appointment with your cat’s vet – they will have your pet checked out. The El Paso Animal Services said even if your cat is a house cat, your cat will still need yearly booster vaccines to stay healthy and protect them from deadly diseases.
Mental health is also important. Make sure your cats have enough toys and scratching posts to play with and use their natural instincts! Animal Services is meant to keep it interesting and give them different things to play with.
Follow El Paso Animal Services on Facebook as a special guest participates in virtual workshops every Thursday to learn how to make home enrichment toys.
For young cat lovers looking to help kittens at the shelter, the center is starting to welcome families back to the Kitty Reading Book Club.
The program enables children ages 9-13 and their parents or guardians to read and interact with the cats awaiting adoption.
