The animal rights activist group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine posted a comment in the American Journal of Medicine claiming that if you want the COVID-19 vaccine to work “better,” whatever that is, a vegetarian diet introduce.
It’s easy to scam people who take ivermectin, they’re stupid Republicans according to science-based Twitter, but this kind of nonsense is just as inconsiderate if we want the public to trust the decision-making. I certainly wouldn’t want to go to Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where the lead author of the opinion piece teaches.
Ivermectin uses a poor correlation, as does claims that wheat is damaging your brain – just like the use of this paper, which links comorbidities like diabetes to worsened COVID-19 outcomes and suggests that not eating red meat will prevent their death would have. It damages trust in science if we want more people to accept it. It’s also a nonsensical, cynical claim based on the advertisement for the author’s diet book and a group founded by a psychiatrist to promote veganism. (1)
Vegetables also have calories
A few years ago, the Crossfit CEO didn’t seem to know much about diabetes and claimed Coca-Cola caused it. (2) Celebrities like Nick Jonas, a diabetic and not a workout video seller, found that Coke saved the lives of many diabetics and Crossfit didn’t save a single one. But the context was there when you have an agenda. More fat people get type 2 diabetes than thin people, and more fat people drink soda. That doesn’t mean the lemonade caused it, a glass of orange juice has the same calories, but it’s considered healthy.
It’s all about calories, not when you are vegan. It’s not a healthier lifestyle to be a vegetarian, this is the company-funded nonsense of the Walter Willett True Health Initiative – hand-picked epidemiology to exploit gullible consumers and journalists who don’t know that food frequency questionnaires can show that red meat can both have cancer causes as well as cures; like any other food. (3)
That’s the problem with letting a T. Colin Campbell acolyte and practitioner of “lifestyle” medicine for the treatment of disease pick a result and reshape it for his agenda. We have enough seedy epidemiologists doing this in their war on food, chemicals and medicine a virus that you have no choice but to die if you eat bacon.
(1) Using the mystical power of the “human connection” and a vegetarian diet, this doctor claims she healed herself from multiple sclerosis.
(2) He’s had a bad decade. That was after he wrote me a letter demanding that I stop taking money from Coca-Cola. Money i never got So I wrote him back and offered to never accept any money from Coca-Cola if he would send me a donation of the amount I never received.
He got angry at me for making him look stupid and instead found a group on the internet that hates science media – US Right To Know – and got his pet foundation to give him the $ 50,000 I asked for after he asked to that I no longer take them from the company that was never given to me. So not only was he against diabetics, but he also donated money to an organization that promotes fear and doubt about vaccines and food. A few years later, he ran into a group he couldn’t bully or buy – the Black Lives Matter movement. Crossfit customers forced him to resign.
