A Chicago cat makes the most of its nine lives. A video shows a cat jumping out of a fifth-floor window to escape a fire and running away unscathed, NBC News reported.
Members of the Chicago Fire Department captured a video of an outside building when they caught the cat in action. The cat fell while the audience gasped in fear. The cat landed on all four paws, bounced off, and then ran away.
“It went under my car and hid until after a few minutes she felt better and came out and tried to climb the wall to get back in,” said fire department spokesman Larry Langford. The cat was not injured, Langford said, and the department is working to reunite the cat with its owner.
No injuries from the fire were reported.
