Vet’s Best Friend appoints chief veterinary officer

Cheryl Brocki, DVM, has been promoted to this new position and will continue to grow the company.

Vet’s Best Friend – a group of veterinary clinics based in Massachusetts – has appointed current Vice President, Veterinary Relations, Cheryl Brocki, DVM, to her new position as Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO).

According to a company announcement, Brocki has been VP of Veterinary Relations since March 2020 and will immediately take on the new CVO role to contribute to the continued success of the company. As CVO, Brocki will be responsible for developing plans and programs that focus on employee wellbeing while attracting and retaining top talent in the veterinary field. At a time of critical growth, the company seeks to add more veterinarians to the team who reflect and accelerate their mission of “taking care of the people who take care of our pets”.

In addition, Brocki will develop and implement a long-term recruiting and career development strategy to meet these targeted growth and hiring goals, the press release said. With a broad background in the industry, she will help support and guide growth plans, meet with potential clinics, and further strengthen the brand and voice of the company as a whole.

A graduate of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Kitts, Brocki reflected on her desire to become a veterinarian at a young age and that her love for pet care, coupled with her passion for science, remained her primary focus.

With 15 years of veterinary medicine experience in the field and in senior positions (e.g., Assistant Doctor, Chief of Staff, Medical Director, etc.), Brocki is a member of the executive team at Vet’s Best Friend.

“I now have a great opportunity to make a difference in the industry,” said Brocki. “I look forward to combining my passion for medicine, science and animal care with my enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting our veterinary teams.”

As Vet’s Best Friend continues to expand, the company remains committed to providing the most fulfilling careers to existing and future employees.
