Veterinarian arrested for DUI after botching canine’s surgical procedure

Staff from the Humane Society in St. Lucie County informed police that Dr. Sheehan behaved normally in the morning but was unbalanced for a second in the afternoon when they sedated Maisie. About 15 minutes after the operation began, the witness asked Dr. Sheehan an epi to stop the bleeding of the dog she neutered. They noticed that Dr. Sheehan was slightly uncoordinated, dropping tools, and it seemed like she was blinking very slowly … her words blurring and appearing incoherent. Other employees asked Dr. Sheehan to let her go, but Dr. Sheehan was determined to drive Maisie to the Veterinary Medical Center.
