A veterinary telemedicine facility has been set up in Nahan to facilitate the rapid diagnosis of animal diseases.

The Deputy Commissioner Sirmaur, Dr. RK Pruthi said the facility could conduct phone consultations on animal diseases. The veterinary officers could be reached by phone on working days from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The deputy director of the animal husbandry department, Dr. Neeru Shabnam said it was an endeavor to help people and ensure a timely healing during the pandemic. This would also save the trip to the hospital. The district administration also provided doctors’ telephone numbers for this purpose.

“A case of rabies in a remote village in Shillai was successfully diagnosed and a team was sent to the village with the drugs to contain the disease after a villager spoke to me on Whatsapp,” said Dr. Shabnam.
