Stormy

Stormy is a transfer from the owner who is described as a very friendly, 4 year old, rather fluffy gray boy. Stormy deserves TLC and a more peaceful life in a loving home. If you own this home, call 631-643-9270 today.

Angel

Angel is a 7 year old Blue Nosed Pit who has been in the shelter for way too long: over two and a half years! She is loving, stupid and she loves people! Angel is also a huge fan of car rides, stuffed toys, and lots of food! Your ideal owner is experienced with larger breeds and can properly read the dog’s body language while adding some structure and discipline to it. Because of her strong personality, Angel would do best in a home with no children or other pets.

If you are interested in meeting Angel, call 631-360-7575 today for more information!

Available for adoption at the Hempstead City Animal Shelter

Truman

Truman, the shelter’s cute 2-year-old 55-pound boy, came in as a stray in February 2021. It was found on a 7-11 alone. Truman is social and friendly and loves making new friends. Truman is interested in meeting other dogs, likes to play with toys and knows the command to “sit”. We bet Truman would be a great home companion. Imagine snuggling up against this cutie. If care (or adoption) can open your home to a deserving animal please call 516-785-5220 or email adoptation@tohmail.org.

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America

Ringo Starr

14 year old Ringo Starr (adoption number H196473) is quite a sensitive teenager! As soon as you step into his private suite, he shares these opinions with you until the time goes by and you both realize it’s time for dinner. All Ringo needs is love and its special diet to live happily with you. This stubborn senior is being treated for early chronic kidney disease through his diet, which he greatly enjoys. Its care is taken over by our animal health centers at cost price. Ringo is scratched and does not enjoy the company of other pets. He will be comfortable in a quiet home with children 12 and older who will be as amused by all of his conversations as NSALA.

Namibia

All animals rescued from hurricane zones by the North Shore Animal League America are in luck, but one year old Namibia (adoption # E3713) was extraordinarily lucky to be taken to her adoption center in Port Washington, where our vets found that she needs surgery to remove her enlarged kidney. Now, fully recovered and with a plan for success, Namibia is sparkling like a diamond with its new life. This slender beauty is healthy again and grateful for her next hero – her own family. Her ideal is with children aged 10 and over who help her to feel welcome as a valued family member, but not overwhelmed.

Shere Khan and Bhageera

** Double Adoption ** Everyone at NSALA is a huge fan of the senior experience. The only thing better than a senior is a bonded couple! When 12-year-old Shere Khan (adoption # BF3566) and 8-year-old Bhageera (adoption # BF3567) recently lost their homes, they stood together to help each other through their crisis. Bhageera is already defying and showing her brother that the new friends are worth cuddling up to. She’s an established lap warmer who doesn’t waste time proving our point on the miracles of senior adoption. Although Shere Khan is more cautious than his sister, he can’t help but ditch his guard to get some earache and treats. Besides being FIV +, the Duo has a clean health certificate and is ready for the next step. Love is the bear need that is lacking in Shere Khan and Bhageera’s lives. Open your heart to an older love and start a new chapter in their life!

Boots

Two-year-old Boots (adoption # H210278) recently lost his home to allergies and is relying on his new friends in the North Shore Animal League America to find a new one. Although this handsome boy is a little hesitant at first, all you have to do is activate the must button on his chin and he will have his head rested on your hands for more scratches in no time. Couldn’t you just see yourself staring into his big amber eyes? Please come over and introduce yourself to someone who is very cute. Boots can’t wait to go out with his new family!
