Undertake-A-Pet Canine of the Week: Ranger Gomez

Submitted by Adopt-A-Pet

M.eet Ranger Gomez! He is a 6 month old 30 pound Border Collie Sheepdog mix with the combined intelligence and intensity of both! He’s an excellent watchdog and will be alert to every sound he hears.

This young man was on a leash but still needs some work on leash training. He knows his basic commands, sit, stay, lie down, go to bed and his favorite cookie. He likes to sleep and travel and wants to please his people. All children in the apartment or when visiting should be at least 13 years old, friendly and very dog-loving. Ranger has enjoyed playing with dogs his size in the past but is very reactive and you need to take the time he needs to properly socialize with the right introduction. As for cats, anyone in the home or in the general area will be vigorously pursued. Cats are not recommended.

Overall a lovely and excellent dog who needs a securely fenced yard, loving strong guides, a rural setting (he lived in the city – too many things to see), and lots of activity. Border Collie and / or GSD experience is required.

If you have any further questions, email is the only method of communication right now. We all care about the health of our two-legged caregivers and the entire community. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily suspending our public opening times. We continue to receive email inquiries and applications and will contact you as soon as we are able to do so. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this difficult time! Stay healthy!
