M.eet Maurice! He’s a 51 pound 1 year old Airedale Terrier / Husky mix and an all-round good boy! He has lush apricot / beige long hair with a hoarse undercoat.

This lovely guy we named Maurice is a fun, one-of-a-kind guy who really enjoys being around people. He doesn’t like being alone and will let you know by singing a lovely song that competes with another dog at the shelter named Dolly Parton. He loves to be brushed, to go for a walk, to play and to be loved. This volunteer favorite has an adorable face and mesmerizing eyes.

Since he’s a stray in the county, we’re still learning about his personality and preferences. He is definitely a smart dog who already knows how to sit and shake and does so to get his meals! Please note that due to its varietal breed, its coat is neither hypoallergenic nor can it be shaved. It is currently unknown how he would behave in a home with cats, children, other dogs, and / or other living things. Maurice exhibits puppy-like characteristics when it comes to chewing (no blankets or carpets in his kennel) and works on house training. He would love a home in the country where he can walk to his heart’s content.

If you have any further questions, email is the only method of communication right now. We all care about the health of our two-legged caregivers and the entire community. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily suspending our public opening times. We continue to receive email inquiries and applications and will contact you as soon as we are able to do so. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this difficult time! Stay healthy!
