According to the QS World University Rankings 2021 published on Wednesday, UC Davis took top positions by subject in the fields of veterinary sciences and agriculture and forestry.
Quacquarelli Symonds, who is considered one of the most influential international providers of university rankings, took first place in the nation and second place in the world in both subjects.
Since veterinary science was ranked in 2015, UC Davis has ranked first five times in the world and is now number 2 for the second time. The campus has been ranked number 2 in the world since 2013, when this topic was first rated Agriculture and Forestry.
The university was not only a leader in these two subjects for 2021, but also reached the top 50 in the world rankings in seven other subjects and the top 20 in the national rankings in eight.

The rankings take into account the reputation of academics, the reputation of employers, and the quotations and effects of academic work at the university. In total, the 2021 ranking analyzed more than 14,435 individual university programs at 1,453 universities worldwide.

The School of Veterinary Medicine has more than 700 undergraduates seeking doctorates in veterinary medicine and other professional and college degrees, and offers the largest veterinary residency program in the country with more than 30 specialties. The school leads the country with $ 81 million in annual research funding donated to the health of animals, people and the planet. The hospital treats more than 50,000 patients each year.
The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has more than 7,400 undergraduate students in 28 majors and 1,059 graduate students in 24 graduate groups and programs. The college’s researchers generate more than $ 140 million in government, corporate, and endowment awards. UC Davis is one of the most widely published and cited US research universities in the fields of agricultural, animal and plant sciences, environment and ecology, food and nutrition sciences, and soil sciences.
