A Toronto man devastated after his emotional aid dog went missing when he was startled by Canada Day fireworks is reunited with his companion.

Kiernyn Campbell has had his dog Bentley for emotional support for four years.

“I take him everywhere and I don’t know what else to do,” Campbell told CTV News Toronto on Friday. “He’s a great support in my life.”

At around 10:00 p.m. on July 1, Campbell was walking Bentley on Torrens Avenue in East York when fireworks went off.

“In a panic, Bentley slipped out of his collar and headed toward Pape Avenue,” said Campbell.

Bentley was confirmed on Sunday after being found by Toronto police.

The dog was in good health.
