The RSPCA need your help to solve this blue cat mystery

The RSPCA is seeking information about an incident in which a cat was covered in blue paint.

It was reported overnight in the Quinns Rocks area in the northern suburbs of Perth, but it is unclear whether it was willful animal cruelty or a cat mishap.

Hannah Dreaver, Executive Manager of Animal and Enforcement Operations at RSPCA WA, said There are severe penalties for those who abuse animals.

“A person convicted of cruelty to animals under the law can be fined between $ 2,000 and $ 50,000 and go to jail,” she said.

“Something like that would have caused this cat a lot of suffering … it would have been really terrible for the animal.”

The RSPCA shared the details on their Facebook page overnight, and another cat owner has since reported a similar incident.

“It is of course worrying that we had a second report.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA Cruelty Hotline at 1300 278 358.
