Davy, a four-month-old husky mix, was adopted by Dog Gone Seattle, a foster family-based rescue organization Seattle area and has already found a home with the von family Chris Scarborough, lead developer of the Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken App. As part of the partnership with Canidae, Davy will train with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and perform at community events throughout the year, as well as regularly visit Kraken’s partner hospital at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health when it is deemed safe to do so.

“We have always known that the NHL and its teams share Canidae’s passion for sustainability and goodness, in addition to an enduring love for dogs,” said Dana Paris, Canidae’s chief marketing officer. “So it was clear that a partnership with the Kraken as well as the Climate Pledge Arena would fit perfectly with our goal of spreading good through multiple channels.”

This new partnership is a natural extension of Canidae’s cycle of good, which extends beyond sustainably sourced, nutritious food for dogs and cats to promote good for pets, people and the planet. Canidae works with regenerative farmers to support local producers and reduce energy use and emissions, as well as otherwise fostering the human-pet bond.

Davy’s new office is in the Climate Pledge Arena, the world’s first zero-carbon arena. In addition to focusing on removing fossil fuels from operations and conserving water, all food and beverages served in the arena are locally sourced within 100 miles of the building. He will also spend time at the Kraken Community Iceplex where he will be available to meet more fans!

“We are excited to welcome Davy Jones to the Seattle Kraken family and proud to work with Canidae to bring him on board,” said Head Coach David Hackstol of the Seattle Kraken. He’s a solid addition to the dressing room and our community and we can’t wait for everyone to meet him.”

The Canidae Cycle of Kindness focuses on three main tenets: Good for Pets, Good for People, Good for Our Planet. This partnership is one of many steps Canidae is taking to be good for all and will shine a spotlight on the incredible work our furry friends can do as trained therapy dogs.
