Research Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Medicine job with UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN (UCD)

Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Research Veterinary Nurse within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine

The UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is currently seeking a veterinary nurse to provide support for our expanding program of clinical research. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to experience a different but innovative aspect of veterinary nursing. This pivotal position has been devised as part of our strategy to further develop and enhance veterinary clinical research.

Clinical research refers to ethical studies undertaken on patients seen at the UCD Veterinary Hospital. These studies typically involve collation of clinical data, use of surplus samples after routine diagnostic tests are completed and potential implementation of clinical trials for new therapies for specific diseases. All clinical research is carried out by a team of veterinary specialists with support from Interns and Residents and with informed owner consent. Whilst experience of clinical research is beneficial, it is not mandatory as appropriate training will be provided.
