In this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, Dr. Adam Christman is joined by Emily Singler, VMD, who shares her experiences juggling veterinary medicine and motherhood.

Emily Singler, VMD spoke about what it’s like to be an Assistant Vet at IndeVets at this time and stage of her career. She explained the benefits of flexibility and how it positively contributes to work-life balance.

“You can set your own schedule. I worked every other Saturday for 14 years and I was like, ‘You know what? I don’t miss baseball games anymore,'” Singler said. “I will no longer work on Saturdays unless I want to, unless I feel like there’s a shift I really want to cover or we need the extra income.

Taking control of her own schedule, she added, “This has been just huge for me and my family. [to be able] to say, “I’m going to make this decision. I don’t have to ask anyone if it’s okay. Having that level of control was a huge win for us.”
