A peer-reviewed study has claimed that ivermectin’s global use may end the COVID-19 pandemic because the drug greatly reduces the risk of fatal respiratory disease with regular use.
The widely used anti-parasitic ivermectin is touted as a miracle cure for COVID-19 by doctors and activists around the world.
The study was peer-reviewed by medical experts that included three senior US government scientists and published in the American Journal of Therapeutics. It is the most comprehensive review of the data available from clinical, in vitro, animal and real world studies.
Led by the frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), a group of medical and scientific experts reviewed published peer-reviewed studies, manuscripts, expert meta-analyzes, and epidemiological analyzes of regions with ivermectin distribution efforts, all of which showed that Ivermectin is an effective prophylaxis and treatment for COVID-19.
“We did the job that the medical authorities didn’t. We did the most comprehensive review of the data available on ivermectin,” said Dr. Pierre Kory, President and Chief Medical Officer of the FLCCC. “We used the gold standard to qualify the verified data before concluding that ivermectin could end this pandemic.”
One focus of the manuscript was on the 27 controlled trials that were available as of January 2021, 15 of which were randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
In accordance with numerous meta-analyzes of ivermectin RCTs published since then by panels of experts from the UK, Italy, Spain and Japan, they found a large statistically significant decrease in mortality, time, in COVID-19 patients treated with ivermectin until recovery and viral clearance.
“Our latest research again shows that ivermectin is unquestionably highly effective in testing the body of evidence as a safe prophylaxis and treatment for COVID-19,” said Paul E. Marik, founding member of the FLCCC and chief physician in pulmonary and critical care medicine for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Many regions around the world are now realizing that ivermectin is an effective prophylaxis and treatment for COVID-19. South Africa, Zimbabwe, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Mexico and India have approved the drug for use by healthcare professionals.
The results of this latest study show that the ivermectin distribution campaigns repeatedly resulted in “rapid population-wide declines in morbidity and mortality”.
“We urge regional health officials and health professionals around the world to demand the immediate inclusion of ivermectin in their standard of care so that we can end this pandemic once and for all,” said Marik.
