Support for veterans with PTSD continues with the fourth annual “Service Dog Salute” campaign

In collaboration with the service dog organization Got Your Six Support Dogs and a radio and television personality Bobby Bones, Dog Chow spent the last year accompanying three veterans on their unique journeys of hope and healing with a PTSD service dog.

The new documentary, which can be viewed at DogChow.com/service, features veteran and PTSD duty dog ​​couples Shannon and Pepper, Tishawna and Archie, and Andy and Thanos learning how to face post-duty challenges such as night terrors, emotional distance and Hypervigilance.

Through the Service Dog Salute campaign, Dog Chow has a mission to connect more veterans with life saving PTSD service dogs by continuing to support service dog organizations, including Got Your Six Support Dogs in Collinsville, Illinois and Tony LaRussas Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Walnut Creek, California, donate $ 850,000 Since the initiative began in 2018, Dog Chow has not only donated funds, but also worked with members of Congress on federal legislation in support of veterans with PTSD. The PAWS for Veterans Therapy Act, passed with broad bipartisan support in 2021, will create a pilot program in the VA to train and bond service dogs with veterans with PTSD.
