Huron Perth health officials are looking for a dog that has bitten a cyclist in Avondale Cemetery in Stratford Tuesday morning.

The bite occurred just before 11:30 a.m., right on the TJ Dolan Natural Area Trail, which runs at the southeast end of the cemetery. Public health officials said the dog was described as a large, yellow-colored Goldendoodle or Labradoodle and was accompanied by three women at the time.

The Huron Perth Public Health wants to check if the dog has current rabies shots. If the dog cannot be found, the bitten cyclist must be vaccinated against rabies as a precaution.

The health unit reminds residents to always collect the contact information for owners of pets that bite a person. Anyone with information about this dog should contact the Huron Perth Public Health at 1-888-221-2133 ext. 2245.
