MADISON, Wisconsin – Public Health Madison & Dane County is looking for a potentially rabid dog that bit a woman Wednesday night.
The incident occurred in Block 3000 on Furey Avenue between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The dog was reportedly unleashed and unaccompanied and bit a woman as she tried to break into her home.
The dog is described as about 60 pounds with short black or brown fur.
Officials said Saturday that if the animal is not found, the woman may need an injection to prevent rabies.
