Alberta Environment warns that deer mating season is beginning in the area and that more animals may pose a barrier on the area’s roads and highways.
With their increased activity, the deer are more in the public eye and are currently not paying as much attention to their surroundings.
“We often see an increase in game and vehicle collisions due to rutting activities, so it is a good reminder for (drivers) to keep an eye on local roads and highways as deer are much more cautious at this time of year,” said Joel Nicholson , Senior Wildlife Biologist at Alberta Environment and Parks.
