Pets of the week: Rocky the dog and Shylo the cat – The Advocate-Messenger

Our pets of the week are Rocky the dog and Shylo the cat.

Rocky is a 1-year-old, block-headed mixed breed puppy with jet black fur and a white splatter on the chest. He has an athletic, lean physique and could use a few pounds. Rocky is a real lover and wants to be with his human all the time, giving kisses and being caressed. When he meets a new person, his whole body writhes with joy!

Rocky is looking for an active family who can exercise their bodies with regular walks and lots of play time. In addition to physical enrichment, Rocky will benefit from basic behavioral training that will keep his mind occupied. If you give him a structured routine and clear expectations, he will repay you with undying loyalty. Rocky has to be an only pet, but with all that love, he’s the only pet you need! Rocky is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and ready to go home.

If you would like to adopt Rocky, please bring your family to a meet and greet Monday through Friday between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Give us a call to make sure it’s still available: //bit.ly/2Qo4EfE.

What could be nicer than saving the life of an animal in a shelter? How about stopping a pet from even going to the shelter ?! With the adoption site Home To Home ™ from DBCHS, dogs and cats move from a loving home to their new loving home without having to stay in a cage at the animal shelter. DBCHS has been helping people find homes for 50+ pets through Home To Home ™ for the past four months!

Shylo is one of our Home To Home ™ cats who are looking for a fresh start because of the health of their owner. This year old cat has a kitten’s energy! He loves to play and has lots of toys.

Shylo can be shy at first, but gets warm quickly. Once he’s finished playing, he’ll jump into your lap to cuddle. Shylo is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and will make an excellent companion for anyone who chooses him to be part of their family. Let’s make Shylo just another cat who avoids a stressful trip to the shelter: Visit their pet profile on Home To Home ™ at https://dbchs.home-home.org/pet/shylo/ to contact their owner about an adoption directly to contact.

Speaking of cats, if you or someone you know feeds free range cats in Boyle County, we can get them spayed / neutered and vaccinated for free! Call us at 859-238-1117 Monday through Friday between 1pm and 1pm to make an appointment. Together we will reach beyond the protective walls and save more lives.
