- Petriage Curbside simplifies check-in and check-out for pet owners on the roadside of a veterinary clinic while improving workflow, freeing up phone lines and optimizing customer communication via customizable forms and contactless payment, even for customers without a Petriage account.
- Petriage Live, an optional triage telephone advisory service that provides pet owners with trusted advice at all times from a team of dedicated licensed veterinarians after a pet owner uses Petriage’s AI-driven symptom checker. With remote consultations, clinicians no longer need to be available 24/7 to provide personalized service.
- A two-tier veterinary practice subscription platform that consolidates Petriage’s previous three-tier system and enables veterinarians to integrate telemedicine at a lower cost and strengthen their relationships with pet owners.
“Our mission is to offer an integrated approach to veterinary care that gives veterinarians greater flexibility and efficiency, and gives pet owners a one-stop destination that meets their pet care needs,” said Petriage, CEO Joe Coury. “These additional offerings and other innovative telehealth technologies and services that we are developing, including wearables and advanced data analytics capabilities, will build trust between pet owners and their veterinarians and improve the quality of life and effectiveness of veterinarians at a time when practices are under immense stress. ”
New services address stress reported by over 75% of vets in the new WSVMA study
A recent one from Petriage and the Washington The Veterinary Medical Association of State Veterinarians found that 76% of respondents are very or very concerned about the stress and burnout of their team.
“The vets’ deep concern for their health and that of their team is not surprising,” she explains Shlomo Freiman, DVM, Petriages chief veterinarian and co-founder. “The pandemic has significantly changed the way most of their clinics run and communicate with their pet owners, and has also dramatically increased the number of pet owners.”
During the pandemic, pet adoptions, especially millennials, have both skyrocketed and surpassed the available shelter animals as people change their lifestyles. Shelter Animal Counts, which records about 500 rescue organizations across the county, saw pet adoption increase 15% year over year in 2020. According to the 2019-2020 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association, two out of three U.S. households had a pet with 393.3 million pets in 2020.
COVID-19 has also hit veterinarians and their staff particularly hard, reflecting the close personal contact and care they give to their pet owners and pets. The survey by Washington Veterinarians found that nearly 40% of respondents or their employees contracted the coronavirus and 8.3% closed their clinics at one point or another. As a result, remote teletriage services and the use of curb stalls in veterinary clinics have become increasingly popular.
“Our new services in combination with our remote triage infrastructure further set Petriage apart from competing telemedicine services as a comprehensive telemedicine solution,” he says Allon Freiman, Petriages Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder. “Our joint survey of veterinarians with the WSVMA underlines the importance of the services of the 21st century for veterinarians, in particular for improving the workflow in their clinics.”
75 percent of the respondents stated that their workflow can be at least moderately improved by the services already offered by Petriage. This includes contactless payment processing, integration into the practice management software, an automated teletriage tool, appointment scheduling, customizable check-in forms, bidirectional messages between the vet and the animal owner and live video chat.
The survey also reveals that a growing percentage of veterinarians are offering remote teletriage services – nearly 32% of virtually none three years ago – and by the roadside. Almost 90% have a curb in place, about 70% of whom say they expect to continue.
Allon Freiman Finds Petriage Curbside improves a clinic’s workflow, streamlines communications, frees up phone lines, improves customer relationships, and increases revenue. He also adds, “Equally important is that it provides security and convenience for a veterinarian’s staff and customers, including the convenience of having prescriptions picked up or returned.”
Launch of Live Consultative Triage Services, optimization of the fee structure to make telemedicine for pets accessible to more clinics
Petriage Live provides triage advisory services to pet owners from a trusted network of veterinarians and veterinarians trained in accordance with the Code of Conduct. They follow established protocols that ensure consistent and high quality veterinary advice.
Petriage’s streamlined two-tier charging system makes pet telemedicine accessible to more clinics by lowering the barrier to entry. It reduced its prices to Petriage Essential, a $ 49.99 Monthly clinic fee for teletriage, telemonitoring, interaction on the roadside and with living vets or vets as well as Petriage Premium, a $ 199.99 monthly fee that adds the integration of telemedicine and practice management systems.
The previous three-tier fee system fell short of the costs $ 49.99 for essential service too $ 299.99 For premium service, each veterinary clinic determines how much their customers pay for access to Petriage and its services. Most vet partners choose to pay Petriage’s annual pet inspection fee so that as many customers as possible have access to the benefits of Telehealth.
