Dr. Jaime Klimsey Pickett has pledged more than $ 200,000 to several educational institutions. Dr. Pickett is the Chief Veterinary Officer and Vice President at Pet Paradise, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. She hopes the gift will encourage students to consider careers in healthcare and veterinary medicine.
“This donation is made with recognition and gratitude for the efforts of those who dedicate their lives to education,” said Dr. Pickett. “Given the shortage of teachers, understaffed medical facilities, and a limited number of veterinarians, it’s important to give back and reinvest in education.”

Dr. Pickett split the gift among several institutions, including:

· St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia.

“Education is part of my life and has helped me become a healthcare provider,” added Dr. Pickett added. “My family emphasized the importance and value of lifelong learning. They have supported my respective academic path and have remained loyal to my studies. “
Dr. Pickett is a veterinarian with a business background. She is involved in the overall innovation and vision of Pet Paradise while overseeing all veterinary services for the company, a comprehensive provider of pet care, health and wellness. She previously owned veterinary clinics in Virginia as well as other businesses outside of veterinary medicine. Dr. Pickett holds a BS in Pre-Medical Studies from Johns Hopkins University, a PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida, and a Masters of Business Administration in Multi-Sector Health from St. George’s University. She is a member of the admissions committee of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and the board of directors of The Doorways in Richmond, Virginia.
