April 4 – The Norman Police Department responded to a Norman dog park following a report of a dog killed on Saturday afternoon.
A local suspect alleged his dog interacted with the victim’s dog, who became aggressive according to a police report. Then the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun, fired a shot, and hit the victim’s dog.
Witnesses at the crime scene told the NPD the two animals appeared to be playing, according to the report.
The victim took his dog to a veterinarian and his condition is unknown.
According to the report, the officers have filed an arrest warrant application against the suspect for reckless gun discharge and cruelty to animals.
The NPD is still investigating the incident.
