Meet George – a stray dog who has been tossed aside to fend for itself.
The Mastiff Cross was rescued in “terrible condition” this week by Jerry Green Dog Rescue.
He is extremely underweight, emaciated, and has significant swelling at the rear end.
It is unknown how long poor George was fending for himself or when he had his last meal.

The Jerry Green Dog Rescue team stepped in to help George – but have expressed concern about his current condition.
A spokesman said: “We don’t know George’s story. We don’t know how long he was alone, how long he had to take care of himself, or why.
“What is painfully obvious is that he hasn’t had the love and kindness of people in a while.
“We are ready to do whatever we can to make George happy and comfortable.
“We will be with him in case his pain and malnutrition prove too much for him, holding his paw every step of the way.”

The team has started examining George, who is estimated to be 10 years old, to see how best to treat him.
They found out that he has numerous health problems that they are currently investigating.
The spokesman added, “We are at the very beginning of our journey with George and we are just beginning to investigate the health effects his previous life has had on him.
“We don’t know what the future holds for George, and we don’t know how long that future will be. We know we will make sure that every day of this future is full of love, goodies, and happiness like this boy deserves.
It is hoped that George can be welcomed into a loving family, provided he recovers fully. But for now he has to live with Jerry Green Dog Rescue indefinitely.

George has been described as the “cutest boy” who loves to cuddle.
The spokesman added, “He has spent nothing but love and cuddling since arriving, getting the full attention of the team and loving every minute.”
His medical treatment has a huge financial impact on Jerry Green Dog Rescue, who has asked people to donate for his care.
“If you are able to donate to George’s care and the care of any other dog in need of us, we would be incredibly grateful,” said the spokesman.
