Major recalls of cat food sold at Dollarama, Canadian Tire, PetSmart, as well as vacuum cleaners at Home Depot trigger multiple Health Canada warnings

A huge recall of cat food and other products in Canada is causing some well-known stores to pull items off the shelves.

Mars Petcare Canada announced a voluntary limited recall of WHISKAS® dry cat food products because they were made from raw materials that were outside of strict internal quality specifications, the company said.

Canadian Tire, Dollarama and PetSmart announced that they have sold the product.

“If you have purchased the recalled food, please stop using it and return it to your local PetSmart store for a full refund,” PetSmart said in an online statement.

Customers with questions should contact Mars Petcare at 1-800-667-2424 between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. EST on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on weekends or visit https: // www. whiskas.ca/en/update.

Home Depot recently issued another recall for RIDGID NXT 6-gallon and 9-gallon wet and dry vacuum cleaners.

According to Health Canada’s 2018 recall warning, the orange and black wet and dry vacuum cleaner has four castors, a handle, a hose and accessories. Doing so with the vacuum cleaner connected could expose the user to live wiring and create a potential electrical shock hazard, “said Health Canada.

“Consumers should stop using these recalled wet and dry vacuums immediately and contact the company for a free replacement powerhead assembly (the entire top of the wet and dry vacuum attached to the orange dust drum)” said Health Canada.

Consumers can get additional information online or by calling the company at 1-888-847-8718 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT.
