UPDATE 1-Pfizer for shipping coronavirus vaccine to Canada
Pfizer Inc will begin supplying Canada with the COVID-19 vaccine made at its U.S. facility next week, a senior official said Friday. This makes Pfizer Inc the second country to receive cans from the Kalamazoo, Michigan facility. Reuters reported Thursday that Pfizer had started shipping factory-made cans to Mexico. This marked the first time the company shipped overseas from U.S. facilities after a Trump-era vaccine export restriction expired in late March. “I can confirm that Canadian delivery of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine will begin on May 3rd from its Kalamazoo manufacturing facility,” said Canadian Minister of Procurement Anita Anand.
