In this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, CEO and Founder of LifeBacon shared the importance of having fun in the workplace and how it can help combat burnout.
According to Megan Bendtzen, founder and CEO of LifeBacon, motivational speaker, speaker and life and business coach, the shortage of jobs in the veterinary industry and new protocols due to COVID-19 have caused employees to experience mental and physical fatigue and burnout.
In this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, Bendtzen shared her advice on how to incorporate joy and laughter into the workday to curb these problems.
“Joy and laughter [are] so important because people feel that a lot [they] must be earned like [they’re] something that we can do at the end of the day, when we have survived all this madness, when we have mastered all of our challenges, ”said Bendtzen.
“It can feel really nonsensical, and sometimes even seen as unprofessional or irresponsible, to just stop what you’re doing and find something to laugh about, or bring a moment of joy, fun, or relaxation. [but] This will give you the push and energy you need to deal with the pressures and challenges you face, ”she continued.
