Gun crime: Brookpark Road

Several shots were fired outside the Phoenix Hookah Lounge, 17021 Brookpark, around 12:30 p.m. on November 1st. Nobody was hurt.

Witnesses said two Cleveland men, 30 and 23, were fighting in the parking lot before an unidentified person fired a 9mm pistol. Then everyone fled. The police are investigating.

Animal Bites: Susan Drive

A dog bit a postman over the right eye at around 2:30 p.m. on November 1st on the doorstep of a house on Susan.

The postman believed the dog was coming out of a house and ran back inside after the attack. Paramedics took the postman to an emergency center.

The dog, an American Staffordshire Terrier, was quarantined at the Brook Park Animal Shelter for 10 days. Police quoted the dog’s owner as saying he was sleeping during the attack. He said the dog was able to open the front door on its own.

Criminal Damage, Trespassing: Brookpark Road

A Cleveland man, 40, crashed his van through a locked fence at Metro Lexus, 13600 Brookpark, then stole 20 tires from the dealership.

The theft, captured on security video, happened around 3:30 p.m. on October 24th. The police identified the man by the number of the delivery truck. An arrest warrant was issued against his arrest.

Escape and Dodge: Snow Road

The driver of a Cadillac STS led the police in a car chase around 9:45 p.m. on November 1.

Police tried to stop the Cadillac on Snow east of Interstate 71 because the car’s windows were illegally tinted. The driver did not stop and reached a speed of 100 mph as he led the police onto Bowfin Boulevard; Doris, Wengler, Shelby and Harrison drive; Smith Street; West 150th Street; and Puritas Avenue in Cleveland.

The police have stopped tracking the vehicle on Puritas for security reasons. The Cadillac was found abandoned minutes later on a residential street in Cleveland.

Escape and Escape: West 137th Street

The driver of a Honda Odyssey led police on October 16 at around 7:30 p.m. on a chase.

Police noticed that the minivan was parked in the middle of an enclosed business parking lot. They checked the license plate and learned that the vehicle had been stolen.

As the police approached the minivan, the driver sped away. He drove onto Brookpark Road, West 130th Street and various back streets, then West 140th Street and Interstate 90, where the police stopped chasing for security reasons.

Its top speed was about 60 miles per hour.

Attempted break-in / break-in: Slater Drive

A Slater man said someone tried to break into his home between 2pm and 8pm on October 29th. The door handle of the house was damaged.

Sudden Illness: Smith Road and Darke Boulevard

A 30-year-old man from Middleburg Heights was rushed to the Southwest Community Health Center in Middleburg Heights at around 1:30 p.m. on November 3 after he was found unconscious and leaning against a tree at Smith and Darke. The police believe the man has taken a heroin overdose.

Big Theft Vehicle: West 149th Street

A 2017 Nissan Altima was stolen from a driveway on West 149th Street between November 2, 10:00 p.m. and November 2, 3:30 a.m.

Theft: Eastland Road

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a company vehicle parked outside Centran Express, 6519 Eastland, at around 10:30 a.m. on October 26th.
