A group of animal lovers came together last week to help the cat population on Bell Island.

Bell Island Cat Rescue Inc. has partnered with Avalon Animal Hospital in Logy Bay to perform a trap spay and return surgery that has spayed or neutered and vaccinated approximately 110 free range cats.

The clinic paid for the procedures, and one happy technician became the proud owner of a new pet.

Bell Island Cat Rescue thanked Avalon Animal Hospital for everything it has done and is doing for the community, and pointed out a population of cats that a Facebook comment said was “out of control”.
