Genlin suggests that the joint signing of this agreement should be a “dog and cat diplomacy” aimed at restoring USChina Relationships – reflecting the success of ping pong diplomacy – and ending the moral crisis that kills over 20 million dogs annually Asia.
Politicians around the world have shown great support for the WDA’s international agreement. To encourage their respective heads of state to initiate the international agreement, 30 non-partisan US congressmen jointly signed a letter to President Trump in February 2020;; 67 bipartisan British MPs jointly signed a letter to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the March 2020;; and 34 bipartisan members of the National Parliament, Japan national legislature, jointly signed a letter to Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide in December 2020.

Half a century later, in the midst of a rapidly changing world, Genlin’s proposed “dog and cat diplomacy” will help the US and the US China adapt to the current era and serve as another icebreaker between the two countries. Genlin hopes that their respective leaders will commit to a common goal of “animal welfare for world peace”.
Genlin also encourages anyone who loves animals to speak out for dogs and cats. The WDA has launched an online petition stating that the “International Convention on the Prohibition of Eating Dogs and Cats” is already widespread. To date, the petition has garnered over 260,000 signatures and is fast approaching its target of 300,000 signatures.
