Bellator 257 results: Vadim Nemkov retains the light heavyweight title by defeating Phil Davis
Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov took a quarter-finals victory in the light heavyweight Grand Prix and successfully defended his title by beating No. 1. 3rd rank Phil Davis. The vast majority of the bout was a stand-up match in which Nemkov decisively defeated his opponent 145-63, whom Nemkov defeated in his first bout in 2018 by a split decision in Tel Aviv, Israel. Not only was Nemkov’s extensive output evident, he also defeated Davis, a former NCAA Division 1 All-American wrestler, a couple of times. This came as a bit of a surprise as the highly decorated wrestler previously claimed he would use wrestling in his game plan. Nemkov’s stamina also looked superb, which fans couldn’t fully judge as this fight marked the first time the 28-year-old champion had completed a full five rounds in his career. Nemkov’s victory over Davis brought him to the semi-finals of the light heavyweight Grand Prix, where he will face the winner of Yoel Romero and Anthony Johnson. https://twitter.com/BellatorMMA/status/1383254050330726408?s=20 Bellator 257 Results: Corey Anderson TKOs Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov in the light heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals No. 3 ranked in the light heavyweight Corey Anderson in the semifinals of the light heavyweight Grand Prix in the Bellator 257 co- Main event with a TKO victory in the third round against Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov. Yagshimuradov seemed at first to be a formidable opponent and threw powerful punches, which Anderson respected. Perhaps Yagshimuradov’s highlight of the fight was a kick in the heel towards the end of the first to break Anderson’s guard and bandage. Anderson indicated after the fight that it slightly affected his balance. The second and third rounds were much more successful for “overtime” as he secured a takedown towards the end of the round, using ground and pounds and returning to the well with great success in the third round. With his TKO win over Yagshimuradov, Anderson reached the semi-finals of the light heavyweight Grand Prix, where he will compete against former division champion and current defending heavyweight champion, Ryan Bader. https://twitter.com/BellatorMMA/status/1383248827423940611?s=20 Featured Photo TRENDING> Salaries of Jake Paul and Ben Askren for trill boxing match against Bellator 257 Results Bellator 257 Main card Vadim Nemkov def.
