Eight Dog Foods Recalled for Potential Health Risk

A number of different dog foods are being pulled off shelves across the country as they can be dangerous to your pet’s health.

Sunshine Mills, based in Red Bay, Alabama, is conducting a voluntary recall of eight different products that may have elevated levels of aflatoxins that can be harmful to dogs if consumed in large quantities.

According to the US Food & Drug Administration, the following products were retailed nationwide:

According to the FDA, aflatoxin is a naturally occurring by-product from the growth of Aspergillus flavus, a fungal disease that can lead to allergic reactions, lung infections, and infections of other organs

No illnesses related to this recall have been reported to date.

Retailers pull the products off their shelves while consumers are advised to stop using those products and to return the unused servings to the place of purchase for a full refund.
