Driver tries to run over man, hits cart with belongings & cat as a substitute, police say

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina (WLOS) – Asheville Police Department is investigating an incident after someone made multiple attempts to run over a man but instead came across a cart with his belongings on it.

The Asheville Police Department (APD) says a witness captured the incident on camera. The video shows a white pickup truck trying to run over a man on the side of the road. Instead, the truck hits a cart, which, according to the APD, is storing the man’s belongings, including his cat. Fortunately, APD says the man and his cat were not injured.

According to official information, the incident occurred on May 17 at around 4:54 p.m. at exit 44 of exit I-40 going east.

According to the police, the driver is described as a white man between the ages of 30 and 40 wearing a light-colored T-shirt and a ball cap. He operated a white Ford F-150 with the registration number RCL-8595 in North Carolina.
