Dr. Elsey’s introduces high-protein cat foods

CHEYENNE, WYO. – Dr. Elsey’s introduced three cleanprotein ™ cat food formulas on September 15th. The formulas are designed to include the protein content that is “found in a cat’s natural prey,” according to the brand.

The cleanprotein line includes a duck recipe, a rabbit recipe and a turkey recipe, each containing more than 90% protein from animal meat or fish sources. Meat is the first ingredient in any recipe that doesn’t contain any added preservatives or fillers.

The brand philosophy is against the use of plant-based protein ingredients and cites estimated negative health effects in some cats. Dr. Elsey’s meat-based protein can also control appetite and healthy kidney function.

The diet is suitable for all ages and lifestyles, including active, overweight, and diabetic cats.
