TORONTO – A dog stolen last week in the east of the city is now reunited with its owners, Toronto police said.

According to investigators, a woman was walking her dog in the Woodbine Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard area when she was talking to a man.

Police alleged the couple continued to speak near the man’s vehicle and at one point the dog got in the car to cool off.

The man, according to the police, then pushed the woman and drove away with her dog.

In a press release released on Saturday, police confirmed that the dog, a female American Bulldog Pitbull mix named Stella, was found in good health on Friday and is now reunited with her owners.

“There are currently no charges and the investigation is ongoing,” said the police.
