The corn dogs at Disneyland Resort in California found themselves in quite a bit of a pickle.
Earlier this week, the Disney Parks Blog featured some of the new food and drink options launched at Disney World and Disneyland in April. But amid the news of “soul” -inspired ice cream floats at Disney World’s EPCOT Center and offers new options at Disneyland’s Blue Bayou restaurant. A special offer raised some readers’ eyebrows, if not their cholesterol levels.
Check out the Pickle Corn Dog, the amusement park grocery sucker.
Found in Disneyland’s Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Cart in downtown Disney, the pickle corn dog is described as a “panko-crusted dill pickle corn dog served with a side of peanut butter.”

Found in Disneyland’s Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Cart in downtown Disney, the pickle corn dog is described as a “panko-crusted dill pickle corn dog served with a side of peanut butter.” There is no mention in the description, however, that a “cucumber corn dog” itself consists of a hollowed out cucumber filled with a hot dog, which is then dipped in corn bread dough, rolled in panko breading and deep-fried.

Food bloggers were quick to share their own reviews of the great snack, with ratings ranging from “okay” to “pretty good”. The response on social media, meanwhile, has been mixed.

“I would definitely try the pickle dog. But the peanut butter is a tough pass,” wrote a Twitter user on a post on the Disney Food Blog, an independent website devoted to food options in Disney parks.
“I MUST at least try the peanut butter!” another replied.
“Sometimes I really think there has been a group of people lately throwing a few food boards with darts to see what they’re going to combine next,” someone else theorized. “I can hear them all laughing hysterically from here.”
“I’m pretty sure this is a violation of the Geneva Convention,” added another.
The idea of a corn dog with a pickle isn’t entirely unique to Disney parks, however. As one Twitter user noted, the Dilly Dog at Globe Life Park, where the Texas Rangers play, offered a similar item, but without the peanut butter dipping sauce.

Disneyland’s Pickle Corn Dogs are currently available for purchase in the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Cart in downtown Disney, which is currently operating with guest health and safety restrictions. The dogs themselves are said to be priced at $ 13 each, or about double the cost of a donut cheese sandwich at Disney Springs, Florida.
The Disneyland Resort in California is expected to reopen to guests on April 30th with limited capacity. Guests must reserve prior to arrival.
