Child, dog hurt by hit-and-run driver at hotel

Anderson Police are asking the public to help track down the driver of an SUV who was involved in a hit and run at a hotel over the weekend that injured an 11-year-old child. According to Chief Jim Stewart, the incident was only reported after noon Saturday on the 3000 block of North Main Street at the Red Roof Inn and Suites Hip, Thigh, and Ankle. The child is still in Prisma Health Greenville hospital but is fine. The family dog ​​was also injured in the incident, the family lawyer said. Attorney Christopher Pracht said the family was from Anderson. He said they were planning to move west and saved money on the move by staying at the hotel when the incident occurred. Surveillance cameras were able to take photos of the vehicle, which is described as a black Range Rover, model 2017 to current year, with dark tinted windows. Witnesses told police that a black Range Rover hit the child while playing in the hotel parking lot and then left the area.

Stewart said the child sustained a broken hip, hamstring and ankle. The child is still hospitalized at Prisma Health Greenville, but is fine.
