Cat Who Escaped JFK Airport Before Cargo Flight Is Found After 18 Days – NBC New York

A Long Island cat that escaped a cargo carrier at JFK Airport is finally back where it belongs after being missing for over two weeks.

Ettore the cat was supposed to be traveling to Italy last month with his owner, who lives part-time at Mastic Beach, but he somehow escaped when he was loaded onto the flight. Port officials then allowed a local animal rescue group to set up a trap and night vision camera to catch the cat, and that did the job.

“Aside from a few bruises and the cat lost three pounds in 18 days, she’s in good health,” said John Debacker of Long Island Cat Kitten Solution.

Ettore is now staying with his owner’s girlfriend while they find a way to get him to Italy.
