NEW YORK – It was an MVP performance by firefighters rescuing a cat stuck in the car of Isaac Yiadom, the cornerback of the New York Giants.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said Sunday they were called to Yiadom’s Florida home after the cat was trapped over the rear differential of the NFL player’s Maserati.
“Fortunately, the kitten was much slower and less agile than Isaac and the crews were able to carry out a successful rescue,” said a Facebook post by the fire service organization.
The Facebook post included a photo of the firefighters removing the cat from the vehicle, as well as pictures showing them posing with Yiadom.
The 25-year-old Yiadom played all 16 games, starting at 10, during his first season with the Giants last year.
During the 2020 season, he recorded five passes defended and 46 tackles.
The cornerback played the first two seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos before being traded for a seven-round draft pick for the Giants last September.
