Caterpillar Now offers a full machine telematics solution that helps Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) enable machine owners and operators to view critical data outputs in real time and better understand and use their equipment’s operation. With Caterpillar’s vast experience in asset health monitoring, customers using this technology can independently locate, track, and manage all of their connected assets.

The engine-ready solution can be integrated with existing telematics regardless of the brand and can help to provide a clear picture of the machine condition by capturing all machine data and displaying the results via an easy-to-read online dashboard.

Cat machine operators have used Cat telematics technology for years, but until now it has only been available as an aftermarket solution to other manufacturers. The new factory-installed telematics solution can give OEMs and their customers access to information about their machine operation and other parameters to extend engine life and reduce operating costs.

Technology users can track equipment location, uptime, fuel usage, maintenance alerts, and more. They can also customize what data they want to see and schedule reports to share with teams.

Equipped with remote maintenance functions, the telematics solution integrated in the motor can help minimize downtime through remote troubleshooting, which can carry out diagnostic tests and localize potential problems while the machine is in operation. When a repair is required, an OEM or dealer technician is notified and can correctly complete the repair in a single visit.

Cat says its solutions for all machine health take the guesswork out of machine maintenance, from the engine to everything it powers.
