A Seymour dog, missing for five days, was reunited with his family after being rescued from a cliff by rescue workers.
According to the Great Hill Hose Company, the dog Charlie was spotted on a ledge on Roosevelt Drive at around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Several groups responded to try to help the stranded pup, including a Hamden technical rope rescue team and alligators raised by crews at Oxford.
A Hamden firefighter went over the edge to rescue Charlie, who was secured with ropes. Then it was lowered and released into the hands of its eager owners and a veterinarian for a health check. It took about four hours to complete the rescue.
