The BC SPCA hopes you can help Raider, a 13-year-old black Labrador who was left alone when his elderly human died.

According to the SPCA, Raider has a number of health concerns.

He’ll need blood tests, urinalysis, and chest and hind leg x-rays, ”said Nicole McBain, manager of the BC SPCA in Burnaby.

“He’s a little stiff and has arthritis, so we’re going to take medication to treat his pain so this handsome boy can feel fine again.”

McBain says Raider will also need an examination of lumps he developed and oral surgery to help him eat without pain

“Despite all that poking and nudging, Raider was so easy going throughout his treatment,” added McBain.

“As soon as we gave him pain medication, we noticed how much energy this gentle senior still had. He loves his walks and exploring new places, and he is a loyal companion who sweetens everyone’s day. “

She says Raider made the staff laugh with his goofy antics and “loves to cuddle up and hang out with people, especially on the couch.”

The cost of Raiders care is expected to be around $ 2,100.

Once Raider’s grooming is complete, he will be available for adoption.
