The winner will be on the cover of Catster Magazine.

A Vernon woman’s cat might just be America’s favorite pet.

Elaine Gross entered the online competition on her long haired purebred Himalayan Reba – – and currently ranks sixth in the quarterfinals.

Gross says Reba has a “cute little personality” and loves posing in front of the camera.

“When I take them to the snow groomers, they just love Reba. They’ve never met a cat who loves all the attention,” says the cat’s human companion.

Reba had Gross 11 years ago as a six-week-old kitten.

But Reba wasn’t always a glam kitten – – She’s had her share of vet visits for a dental disease.

“Despite all her health concerns and my fear, Reba was a fighter, she always jumps back and shows so much resilience,” says Gross.

She entered the competition in November, which is open to both US and Canadian residents.

The grand prize brings the winner to the cover of Catster Magazine and the owner to $ 5,000.

Users can vote for their favorite pet online. The semi-finals will start on March 12th.

“Anyone can cheer on Reba and experience a moment of certainty during the drama of the pandemic,” said Gross. “The competition is tough, so I channel Reba’s fighting stance on getting as many votes as possible.”

Reba’s bio states that her favorite toy is a homemade catnip sock, and she loves Temptation’s cat treats.
