Marks bypasses charter to buy the entire Ganassi NASCAR team
Immediately after the bombshell announcement that Justin Marks had bought Chip Ganassi’s NASCAR team, the outgoing owner brought the soon-to-be new boss back to the store to speak to a room full of anxious employees. Work begins next week for the Trackhouse Racing co-owner who was struggling to find a charter for the team’s first year of competition and refused to pay the rising cost of NASCAR’s franchise equivalent. Kaulig Racing bought a pair of charters for at least $ 10 million apiece last month, and after Marks analyzed the numbers, he just couldn’t justify the expense.
